Seems like there's a ton of myths and voodoo around the Webasto heaters and how they work, how they get carbon buildup, and whether or not to do the notorious "high altitude adjustment." This video is with actual tech support people from Webasto and clears so much up. I'm watching it now.

Long story short, don't do the altitude adjustment by yourself unless you have an exhaust gas analyzer, and run it frequently on high for about 30min or so to keep it from building up carbon.

They even talk about the Russian kits, which I bought. Honestly there weren't a lot of convincing reasons NOT to go the cheaper route and buy one from Russia.

They come with a few less parts in the kit, but that's about it. They don't include the mounting plate, and it is definitely harder to install without the mounting plate, but IMO it's a cleaner install to drill all the small holes in the floor yourself as opposed to drilling one giant hole and putting the mounting plate over it.
