I sold my van today, to an older gentleman who wanted something to take camping and fishing.  She will be back out there now, having spent the last year parked and making only short trips to town for groceries and such.  I swear she smiled at me as she backed out of the drive, headed to her new home.

She came into my life when times were difficult.  I did a lot of healing in that van.  Times and circumstances change, though, and now my healed heart is bound to a little guy who is the love of my life.  I watch him growing and learning and hope I can be the Best Gramma In The World for him.

One door has closed and I am excited as I step through another to see what's on the other side!

Who knows? Maybe in a few years my little guy and I will build out a new van and hit the road together.

So far, so good

So glad you feel good about this change. Enjoy your grandson!

And don't be a stranger!

Beautifully said, stargazer. I hope all my transitions are as graceful as that.

Thank you all for your kind words.

The new owner is 70 years old and spent the last five years recovering from two strokes.  His son drove 400 miles one way to get this van for him so he could camp and fish again.  The son texted me last night when he arrived back home and said Dad was thrilled with the van and couldn't wait for morning to see it better in daylight.

She gave me the means to find peace, hope and joy again.  I hope the new owner will find the same.  She truly is magical.  Funny thing...his was the only response from the AutoTrader ad I placed six weeks ago.  Perhaps her job is to find the right person to help make whole?  She was done with me and it was time for her to move on?  A romantic thought, maybe a little crazy, but I like to think SHE chose HIM.  Why not?!

I always called her "Gypsy" but it never felt quite right.  I think her true name is "Angel".

Very poetic. She will be magical for her new owner, as well, I hope. :) The right person finds her when she is needed. it appears.
