In order to have more manufacturing capability available for mid-sized pickups, GM is having heavy truck manufacturer Navistar build cutaway vans. I wonder what bearing that might have on whether GM will be doing a new Euro-type van like Ford and Ram.

I hope they don't but I imagine they might. Ford is doing great with the Transit Van. I don't know if Chevy wants to build an entirely new van, though. Ford had the Transit van in Europe and I believe the Ram was in production outside the country as well. I don't know what options Chevy has...if they have to redo the whole thing they might just keep doing what they;re doing which is adding on...

They're introducing a small diesel for better gas mileage next year. Since gas mileage is the main issue for me if I had the money I would go for it.http://www.equipmentworld.com/gm-br...uramax-diesel-to-express-and-gmc-savana-vans/

A company that adds hybrids to GMC/Chevy vans (but not any others) says it going to make them available to consumers in about two years...That would be even better if you could find some way to charge them up regularly...

The Ram ProMaster is an Americanized Fiat van, the same way the old Dodge Sprinters were Mercedes Sprinters with a different grill and badges.
