I stole these from an article on Truck Camper Magazine.  A guy built a generator box for the front of his pickup.  HE USED THE EXISTING SNOW PLOW FRAME!  This was one of those slap-your-forehead, why-didn't-I-ever-think-of-that? moments for me!  You can't always find a front trailer hitch for every year and model, and I'll bet it will handle more weight than a trailer hitch, plus being more stable since there are TWO mounts, not one.  There's room on the side by the box to mount a 2 1/2 gal gas can.

The only downside is, I don't think they make snow plow frames for vans, only for pickups.

You can buy a front hitch for most of the domestic larger vans, not sure about smaller or foreign vans...probably not. Many van expediters and pilot cars use this arrangement for their gensets.

BTW on the receiver hitch, you can buy a little item called a hitch tightener, they work well. Its a piece of thick steel with a heavy U-bolt that slips over the joint and keeps it from rattling or wobbling.

I'd be hesitant to block the intake of the grill, but something small would work fine.

Making it appear more beat up, and maybe more like a winch, might make it a little less attractive to thieves.
