Hi

I am a disability pensioner who is looking into moving into a camper van lifestyle.

Iove the idea but i have no savings or experience.
The goal is to move to the USA and live the vanlife permanently, worse case it would be Australia.

Kind Regards
Scott

Welcome aboard !
You'll find lots of good help and advice here.
I hope your dream to move here comes true.
(Many here would probably trade places with you.)
Keep us updated on your progress and feel free to ask any questions you want answered.

I'm there with you Scott, This website if awesome with awesome people and thanks again Bob for starting this.

Well I did it, started the journey to becoming a van dweller, I have purchased a 1982 urvan camper (pop top). I don't know if I should move it to the captain's log or keep it here. It is currently at the mechanics getting a road worthy before I can start getting her/him upgraded. It has a 100watt solar panel on top with a deep cycle battery, a stove with a two gas burner so these things I might keep it depends on your recommendations. But first question of many I am going to move the 'blog' the captains' area, and I would love your opinions.

I would like to blog about my updates, through this website are there are far more experienced van dwellers then me.

Kind Regards
Scott

The moderators, will split a thread for you. Nice group of people here and the mods are helpful. Welcome..

I spent 37 days in your fine country, unfortunately most is an alcoholic haze .

Welcome aboard! This really is a great site with ALL kinds of helpful folks here. I look forward to seeing your future progress, and wish you the best on your upcoming adventures. Cotton

SheLun - since you haven't posted very much information on this thread just start another thread in the Captain's Log. We can all benefit from your experiences as you build out your van.

And congratulations on your van purchase! Don't forget to post pictures!

Welcome. I've run into a couple of Aussies along the way doing the van thing - said they are loving it. It's quite a brave thing to move to a new country to start a new life, especially a nomadic one, but I know you'll find that you'll run into tons of people who will point the way to the best places to travel and stay. This forum is gold when it comes to sharing info.

Welcome to CRVL Scott - ShenLun. I wonder if it would be more cost effective to Van Dwell where you are vs coming to the US. Anywho if you come here enjoy all the new and different places this country has to offer. I hope you find a cozy corner as you enjoy all the great people, stories and wealth of information this forum offers. Be safe and enjoy the roads ahead.
