I am currently remodeling a 1984 class C RV to be off grid to live and work and travel in. Been working on it for 1.5yrs and almost done. We gutted everything to make it a "big box", workspace, compost toilet, and lots of storage. I am loving it and can't wait until its done and ready to start exploring and become part of the community.

Pictures, please. Interesting to see the remodel.

Welcome to the CRVL forums melanie8! Yes, pictures please! :)

To help you learn the ins and outs of these forums, this "Tips, Tricks and Rules" post lists some helpful information to get you started.

Most of our rules boil down to two simple over-riding principles: 1) What you post should provide good information (like your introductory post), and 2) Any response to someone else's post should make them feel glad they are part of this forum community.

We look forward to hearing more from you.

Welcome to the CRVL forum   :)

What part of the country are you expecting to live in "off grid" ?  Or are you going to travel as a snow bird to
take advantage of nice weather year around ?

I once saw a novel idea where the RV Nomad stayed where it would be cold all winter.  The following photos shows
the solution.

This was covered with plastic Tarp's to repel most of the rain water or snow that would melt.  There was a ventilation system to keep it safe and livable.

But for a Nomad who would have to winter over for some reason this would be an affordable solution.  Cabin Fever may be your biggest enemy.
