A lot of free and very cheap books on Kindle are pretty poor. But you still get what you paid for it!

And sometimes, they are outstanding, so you "buy" your free book and you take your chances. All you have to lose is time.

I'd like to thank you for posting these free ebooks.  I need to check this section of the forum more often as I miss the narrow window many of these books are available.

Those recent books changed overnight to paid versions. Guess the free ones sold out in hours.

The free books on Amazon are determined by authors/publishers. They are ALL digital download books (using the Kindle app which itself is free for any device), so there is not a limit on the number at all.

Authors are allowed to offer a book for free up to 5 days per quarter. The reason an author might do this is to get her books read by a wider audience, gain more reviews (hopefully 4 or 5 stars), get new readers interested in other books by the author, etc. And if you look at the number of pages in the free book, you will most of the time notice the books are more of a "sample" of the author's writing or knowledge.

An author can choose if the "free" promotion is for one day, two days, etc. And the "day" is from about midnight on the designated date to about midnight at the end of the date (I've never determined if it is all based on West Coast time or is keyed to the author's time zone.) So, yes, you have to download the books that are free quickly so as not to miss it.

It is only 23 pages so the difficulty should not last long. I looked at the "Look Inside" preview but it was all an introduction with very flowery wording. You can't tell if there might be a few tips previously unknown or not. But, as mentioned before, it is free. And the delete button is easy to use on your device I'm sure.
