Thought: While you can use an Airtag to keep track of your own vehicle, bad people can do the same to track YOU. I didn't see your post, but maybe that was the reason?

OK, back k to air tags...
As I understand it Tracker Detect app can tell you if you are being tracked. There are also other phone apps and settings that can increase your privacy. But, yah, if that's a concern maybe this is not a good option.

For a few years now I have been using an app that purposely tracks me. I have provided members of my family with access so they can keep up with where I am, just in case something bad happens. So, obviously I am not that concerned about being tracked.

On another forum I follow, which is explicitly political and can get VERY hot, I tend to replace the original with something like "Sorry, on second thought, what I said was pretty dumb". So far, that has worked to not trigger a bunch of cascading deletions.

Seems like we should maybe get someone who knows how all this works to weigh in here instead of continuing to speculate. I'll post this and then self-report it and maybe a mod can weigh in.
