Florida Previa Van Owner

I live in the Panhandle of Florida and travel to the Marianna and Orlando areas frequently and stay in "Hotel Previa" to save expenses and because I just like to sleep in my own linens.
I have been reading the different sections of the forum and decided to join.  I am a female so I also have been reading a lot in the "Girls Room".   I want to thank everyone for the valuable information I have been gathering here.

Welcome, another Floridian Quite a few of us here, I'm in Tallahassee, not quite a van dweller... but will be, sooner or later.

What's your setup like? Any pictures?

Hi Rugster,

My van isn't a conversion van. It is large though.  I have taken out the seats behind the drivers/front seats and fold up and out of the way the back bench seat. (It splits and folds up to the sides of the van.) That way there is plenty of room for my twin air mattress.  In the morning I deflate the air mattress and fold down one of the back bench seats to sit on and use a tray table to eat breakfast and in the evening watch a movie if I want.  The van has a sun roof above and between the front seats.  I use a coleman stove to make my coffee in the morning by placing it on the two front seats under the sunroof which is open for ventilation. It's worked pretty well so far.   For privacy, I also used a few of those fold up windshield sun shades to make panels that fit all the windows that are easy to put in, take out and store.  (Got the idea from a google search.)

I know this is very minimal but I haven't yet had to LIVE in my van.  Just done a little traveling in it so far.
What is your set up like?

Panhandle of Florida - I know where that is  I was born and raised in Graceville. As a matter of fact, I was in Marianna last Thursday.

I'm not quite a vandweller yet either, but I bought my van a few weeks ago and am chomping at the bit for June to finally come. Then I'll be free!
Welcome to the forum. I'm somewhat of a newbie myself, but I've found that this site is an amazing wealth of information, the Girls' Room is invaluable, and the people here are super helpful and encouraging.

I can appreciate what you are doing as that's about the way I started.   I'm up where Kentucky,
West Virginia, and Ohio come together.

I once did a bunch of work related travel and on one assignment had to drive from Baton Rouge,
LA to Tallahassee, FL across the Florida Panhandle.   Absolutely fell in love with what I saw.
My family used to own property in Bradenton, FL  and I'd seen most of the peninsula but
never the pan handle.   It was clean, serene, and like no other ocean areas I'd been around before.

My first Van was a used delivery vehicle an it didn't have side windows and the side and back doors were
what folks call "barn doors".  I developed an interior that was inexpensive, fast to assemble,  requiring
the most basic of tools and materials,  and offer the most utility so I could be mobile in just a few days.

I am new here also, a female, and from Florida as well. Born in Cocoa and grew up in Vero Beach. I really miss the beach   Currently stuck in TN until I sell my house here then going ft into van life. Sounds like you have what you need for now with your set up and that's all that matters!

I didn't know there was a Girls Room!! Gotta check that out! Thanks
