I recently discovered that as a part of Humana plan I also have Silver Sneakers, membership at 17K gyms and fitness centers. So for those looking for free showers this might be an answer.
Thanks

Do you mean a secondary plan on top of Medicare?  I'm wondering if the less expensive plans include Silver Sneakers.

I called Humana CS last year to ask about that but they wanted all my personal information first. Just to answer a simple, general question.

Just today I was getting ready to re-join Planet Fitness but if SS is a better option, that would be good. Probably need to up my insurance anyway as I deteriorate further.

And welcome to the forum!

The "base" Humana secondary insurance does not include silver sneekers in my state, unless something has changed from a year ago.
I looked into that 6 years ago when I signed up and check what's what for changes every year.
Check your state, it may be different.

My Kentucky state employee's Hummana did, but I have never tried to use it. Many gyms offer a free week or month introductory membership. I checked in Tucson a few winters ago and there were enough gyms with those offers I could have stayed several months and not had to join one!

If you travel, you need the PF Black Card which now is $23.99/mo. plus a $39 annual fee.

So with tax it comes to about $30/mo.

Not a bad deal since it seems truck stops are charging quite a bit for showers these days.

To further explain, Humana availability is based on the county that you live in, as are all Medicare supplements. My point is; 1- for a lot of RV dwellers $30 or even $10 per month could be significant so this might be an option and 2- check your supplement it my offer something like Silver Sneakers.
Maybe Good Sam could work in a similar benefit, just a thought.

Silver Sneakers works for those doing urban camping. But for those who are staying in places such as Quartzsite or travling the "blue highways" meaning the backroads then it simply does not work. There are generally no health clubs in small towns and rural areas.

"There are generally no health clubs in small towns and rural areas."

Generally, in small towns and rural areas, one just heads out the door to a fitness activity.

Which reminds me that it's almost time to step outside for a run when the sun dips low on the horizon.

Or go for a non stationary pedal bike ride.

Of course, what I posted was not at all about showers. I am pampered by owning a 1989 Class C with a 1989 shower enclosure that needs demo, then renovation.
