What kind of car is it? I'm wondering if you could have a trailer hitch installed on it and put your stuff in one of those really small U-Haul trailers. It would be easier to drive, cost less in fuel , probably still be way cheaper than a rented truck, and be way easier to back up. You could then sleep in your car.

chevy HHR ~ a hitch could be installed ~ I have looked at youtube videos about it .

I just don't want to break down  ~ I have only put 1100 miles on the car since I bought it ~ I only bought it so I could get back to Arizona with all my stuff ~ I don't drive at all , the car is just parked ~

I guess there is a possibility that the car is in good enough condition to make the trip but Phoenix gives me a sense of impending doom and I don't feel good about anything as long as I'm here ~ I just expect everything to go wrong because it always does.

I planned on staying here because I love the weather ~ but it's not a good fit for me ~ I am much happier in Oregon ~ I just don't care for the weather there.

I felt confident enough to take the journey from Oregon ~ But I always feel like the world is ending when I'm in Phoenix .

I will probably spend thousands of extra dollars renting a uhaul   :(

unless I could drive to Wickenburg and look for an apartment there ~ that would only be about 60 miles and if I broke down I could have it towed to wickenburg with AAA ~ then at least I would be out of Phoenix and there is a uhaul dealership in Wickenburg ~ so I could move on to Oregon with a uhaul from there if there are no apartments available

I would still feel much more comfortable in Oregon or maybe even Montana but the weather is more severe in Montana ~ it only gets down to 30 degrees in Oregon where I'm going

Why don’t you get the car checked out by a mechanic? Might give you peace of mind to just drive it. If there is something to fix then fix it.
