I went out and bought a chassis to put a 40 ft. container on this morning, goin up to New Jersey tomorrow to look at a 40 ft high cube container to convert to a RV. After I can get a container will figure out what living arrangements I want to install, going to take my time and build exactly what I want.
I been kind of dragging my feet since wife passed on, time to get moving.

Rafe

Are you referring to a shipping container, Rafe (40 ft high cube!?)?

Sorry, I'm not understanding (I slow ), could you possibly post a link or photo of an example of what your trying to do?

Hello, yes I am referring to a 40 ft. high cube shipping container, I am sure you have seen 40 foot containers being moved, the chassis is the the trailer the container is on. The high cube is 40 ft. long, 8 feet wide and 9.5 ft high, already have a Volvo tractor to pull it with.

I have a good friend that refurbishes containers and chassis, going to have him refurbish [paint, repair and generally redo it] the chassis for me.

I can't do pictures, don't have a printer for computer, old one broke and don't want to waste the money on a new one.

Rafe

OK, Yeah - I've seen many shipping containers used for things like cabin get-a-ways, homes, apartments, etc., but don't think I've seen one set up for a RV. I tried googling for pictures of and shipping container RV/camper set up, but couldn't find one, yet.

Good Luck, and I hope you can post some pictures when you begin your build.

A 40 ft over seas cargo container? WOW! That's HUGE. I hope you can figure out how to post photos of your progress, and no, you won't need a printer to do that.
-Bruce

WOW, that's 4 x bigger than my bus was and 2x the size of my fifth wheel, which is like a mansion compared to the bus, good luck. If you have a smartphone, you can post pictures as attachments.

Change of direction, came into some money [lottery] also so sold quite a bit of stuff I had accumalated over the years. I decided to buy a Class A motorhome [2008 Winnebago Destination] and live full time in it.

I didn't realize how much was involved in converting a 40 foot Container to a RV, will convert it to a mountain cabin instead. It will do for a place to stay if I need a break from traveling sometime in the future, need a place for all my late wifes stuff anyway.

Rafe
