The FCC recently released their map of cell coverage in the country.  It's an actual map of recorded cell coverage (recorded by phones in those locations per carrier), not just a collection of maps from carriers (marketing maps), or even a "best guess" of coverage based on tower locations.

Might be of interest to some folks here.  Best viewed on a laptop (or some large screen) since the map is interactive and based in their ARC-GIS service.

This is probably going to replace https://www.cellmapper.net/map for me.

Funny thing, the FCC map for Verizon 4G in Nevada looks the same as Verizon's coverage map.

Many areas of no coverage.

The FCC map does show the terrain, VZ's map has no features, thus giving a better idea of where one would lose coverage. Usually somewhere before the remote dispersed site that I am interested in.

It's a keeper, bookmarked in my Campsites folder.

Thank you.
