I have  a 2000 f150 with 250,000 miles. When I make a hard left hand turn I hear a sound out of the right rear that sounds like a flat tire .so much so that I bought new tires . I have no noise no shake no skip of tires no viberation. any suggestion were to start looking.

Have you had someone outside the vehicle listening for the noise. I only ask because I swore one time that a noise was coming from the back end and when someone ran along beside me while I did the thing that caused the noise, I had it all wrong...it was coming from the front not the back. From the drivers' seat inside the vehicle it can be hard to tell, particularly on the passenger side because the noise is coming in the open window!

And the first thing to do after the above is to get it up on a hoist and start checking stuff out.

I would recommend checking the fluid level in the differential. If it's a limited slip differential,it's not unusual to hear some noise in a hard turn.Good Luck.

get it off the ground and start checking for something loose anything not just the rear end. do like bob says and check your fluid level. when was the last time it was checked? do you have a posi/limited slip? like almost there said it could be coming from the front. take it to an empty parking lot and turn as tight as you can, do circles, both ways see if you can get it to do it at a slow speed. do these things and get back to us. highdesertranger

found the problem. rear seal was leaking oil onto the parking brake shoes and they were grabing and  making the wheel grab on a hard left turn . replaced bearing and seal.
