Gotta love how companies with incredible research abilities manage to overlook quality control- seems like they might check quality a bit more often than every few million gallons, eh? I'm pretty sure they would notice if it started to cost them more to produce.....
Judging by the number carburetor rebuilds, clogged fuel filters, plugged injectors I've had in the last few years and the poor mileage- I think I got most of their fuel;-(
I make my own off road diesel, wish I could make my own gasoline.....
Rant over.....

I sell fuel for exxon, but we get it from a company that sells it to other brand stations too. I get a chuckle at the signage exclaiming how great a particular gas is over another as i watch our delivery guy head to the ashland down the block :p

No they have to stick to the octane thing by law, but a lot of people don't know that midgrade isn't a seperate thing, they just mix the high and low.

My boss owned the exxon and two ashlands and the same people delivered his fuel

It may be a franchise thing that makes this possible

The Exxon here was shut down, boarded up, when Exxon found the dealer was buying gasoline from cut rate distributors.
