Ok, I did a stupid thing this morning, was too distracted and backed out of garage while the door was stilling going up. Shattered rear car window, dinged garage door, all minor, but stupid mistake none the less.
So, fess up! Share your idiot moments with me. I want to laugh along with you. :p

Another great thing about the vagabond life: no garages in the desert!

Edit: insurance guy wanted a pic so figured I would add it here to...get the most humor out of the situation

Ouch!!! Ok here goes, I was still a little "groggy" from the night before and when I was backing out of the driveway I thought it was a big tree in the distance. Nope, small tree right there and creased my driver's side fender. When I used to drive a big truck I was way up in Wisconsin after a huge snow and the scrapers had piled the snow up along the side of the side roads where I had to back up into a dock. So, I figured it was just a big pile of snow. Nope, there was a small boulder there and I ended up getting it stuck under my truck. Had to have a tow truck come out to lift my truck up and move it away from that dang rock. Bent the tie rod and knocked a hole in the oil pan. There.. feel better?

Camping with the cargo trailer in Acadia National Park in Maine-Seawall campground. I had the hardest spot to get into and after a lot of work, I got it done. I was very proud. The next morning, got up early, and backed the truck straight into a tree! I swear it grew up there overnight. Luckily, my son was also camping in another place nearby, so he got it so I could open and close the tailgate again. I was a long way from home, and just starting out the summer camping. It would have been a disaster if I hadn’t been able to open the tailgate all summer!

Oh, so many to choose from...Backing my old truck out of the garage, decided to open the drivers door to peak out, for more visibility, (the mirrors sucked.) oops. driver's door caught the frame of garage door. I now had an accordion shaped drivers door.

I bought a 1956 Plymouth standard shift. It wouldn't start and couldn't jump start it as it was nosed in to the garage wall. I had my mom sit in the car while I pushed it out of the garage which was on a big hill. My mom went flying down the hill shouting "No brakes" as she pumped the clutch petal thinking it was the brake. It was okay she ended up in one of the neighbor's yards. I come by genius through her side of the family.

I've never done anything stupid but a couple years ago in Quartzsite my friend was clearing the larger rocks off the ultralight runway. He tried to backhand one of the rocks and it went right through the drivers side window on his motorhome.

Many years ago I backed my car into my drive and suddenly started hearing and feeling snapping and a slight jerking of the vehicle, and trying to determine what was making the noise kept slowly backing......until I remembered the new wooden extension ladder I had laid there....

Parked in the driveway, in our Newly purchased house. Garage door was closed (as it was full of all of our stuff.. freshly moved and all..)
Put car in reverse, checked mirrors, let out clutch.. to discover I was in 1st..
Yep- dented the brand new garage door... sigh
