How important is this on a conversion van? Ripping it all out from the door jam, including the carpet trimming on the doors, yields some decent storage space for bottles, cleaners and other thin, tall items.

Will I lose significant insulation? Much more condensation? Thanks.

if I were to do that I would put some thin Ensolite on the skin. I have never seen factory insulation in the doors. highdesertranger

It's like a custom cutout of thick insulation you'd see in the attic of a house and yellowish, manila folder in color.
