Modern absorption fridges also use 12vDC to run the circuit board to control the propane.
A user on another forum measured his ~6 to 8 cubic foot absorption fridge's 24 hour electrical consumption at 16aH!!
My 1.8 cubic foot danfoss powered extra insulated hyper ventilated Vitrifrigo averages about that in 24 hours in 65F average ambient temps, and uses no propane to do so.
Between the slow cooling, needing to be mostly level, needing to refill propane tanks, being an Ampwhore on AC or DC, in my book the 12v DC compressor fridge wins every time over the absorption fridge.
