My apologies for being rude and not introducing myself to the board, while commenting on other topics.

The name is Aristotle and I've been a lurker for the past year. Last year I moved back to California on a whim with a woman. To save the drama, I was reminded why I have been single for the last 9 yrs. Plan "B" was to move back into a bigrig and save like an animaI.
What I couldn't sell, I left at that woman's house. Wasnt gonna give her a last ditch chance to start a fight and have the last word. I wasn't falling for it.

I went back doing the only thing that has made me happy for the last 22 yrs, that's solo long haul trucking. I've gotten rid of all my debt, and my only monthly bill is a burner phone $45.00, from Helmart. My car ins is paid till Aug. My plans are to dwell in this bigrig for 2 more yrs and buy some property in Elko county Nv. I keep flip- flopping on what I will dwell in on my time off. I still like the step-van idea, as I would have stand up room for an indoor shower. I'll save the detials of my building plans for another day.

Btw, I finally stopped at a nasty truckstop restroom that, I was too grossed out to use. I've had a 5 gal bucket, kitty liter, and trash bags for an emergency case scenario.
Needless to say, I had to use it today.
I've gotten over that pride of sitting on a bucket and thinking like this is crazy! I'm supposed to using normal facilities.

Truth be told, it was actually liberating knowing I can now use the potty when ever I want. It will always be cleaned and I don't have to traverse these crowded places anymore and wonder why the floor is wet. Is it just water? Or?? [emoji16]

I'm a step closer to living my off grid dream. Thanks to the Vandwelling book I got off Amazon last year, I'm around other like minded people. [emoji1]

Hello and welcome from central Ohio!

I smiled when I read your "nasty restroom" encounter. I have a porta potty instead of the bucket, but definitely can relate to how important it is to have a clean, reliable arrangement.

hi mike and welcome. I love Elko county although I gets quite cold there during the winter. highdesertranger

Milk - what is the least expensive way to certainly get a valid CDL with no strings attached? My son was wanting to do the CDL work, but there are a lot of schools that make you commit to them and their customers as an indentured servant. With your experience you might know these things.

And welcome.

Hi Milk Hauler, great to hear from you and your sound plans as far as no debt, little personal stuff and your hopes for land in Nv. At least you are no stranger to solo living and the road warrior life.

As for nasty bathrooms, since I usually only stop at Flying J, Pilot or Loves, they are decently kept up, it's the little gas stations that can be pretty bad.

What I don't care for are all the P bottles thrown out on the sides of the interstates by drivers. They could at least wait and use a dumpster.

Thanks fellow vandwellers and traverlers. I've stopped for the night here in Ely Nv, and just getting around to reading email. I love the vibe of this forum. So many interesting people from all backgrounds. I'm gonna read everything I can on this site. Good info here. Ciao!
