I have been haggling with a dealer on this Ford Transit Connect XLT 2012. It has 93k miles. It is in good condition. This would be a weekender / road tripper for me and possibly another person from time to time.

Asking price was $10,998. I got them down to $9,999 (including tax + reg). Kelly Blue Book is around $10.7.

Anyone have thoughts on if this is a decent deal? Should I take it?

Thanks and can't wait to get started on my conversion.

Stephanie

Thanks! I've definitely been looking at your posts and they are an inspiration. I have been looking all over California and this seems to be a good deal. The other few that I have looked at turned out to be not too great. I really had to fight for this price with the tax included.

I wanted to go look at new ones, but that is actually out of my budget and I don't feel like being locked in.

@BigT. Where are you located?

Thanks. That is where I found it. I'm in California and have searched all over the state for something. I found an amazing one with 19k miles for $13k, but it turned out that the owner had added propane gas that took up 1/3 of the cargo area. WTF?!?

I'm patient and can wait, but I also don't want to pass up a fair deal. Ahhhhhhh!!! Help! [emoji3]

I'm in the SF Bay Area.

If it drives good and you like the way it looks, I say grab it!  90K is no big deal, and the price seems very reasonable.

Here's a 2013 in San Jose with 100K and a roof rack, for $9,900.  http://sfbay.craigslist.org/pen/ctd/5841509347.html

And yet another one with 104K for $9,900  http://sfbay.craigslist.org/sby/ctd/5836186729.html

Here's a 2012 TC in green (pretty cool!) with 87,603 miles and a roof rack, for $9,995  http://sfbay.craigslist.org/eby/ctd/5835061382.html

I wish mine was green!

I don't know where you are, but I'm seeing tons of them in the Bay Area for between $9,900 & $12,000.

I'm Bay Area as well!

I looked at the green one. They were part of a fleet. They did a super ****** paint job on them and it was really beat up even though the miles were much lower.

I think the price and condition is good on the one I'm looking at. Guess I'm just getting cold feet! Might pull the trigger tomorrow after sleeping on it!

I'd love to check out your van some time. I'm going to have mine down in Fresno to have my dad help with the work. He's a woodworker with all the tools (x 3) and needs a project. My mom is also super handy and willing to help out. I think it will be a fun family project.

Thanks for the reply!

Oh, so it's not a factory green paint job...  Too bad.  Was the inside white?

Getting one that already has a roof rack would be nice.  My Yakima roof rack wasn't cheap.

I bought my TC the day I found it.  :p  I had done my research first, though.

Have you looked at the other two I linked?

No factory job. It is a cheap spray job. Really bad.

Haven't looked at the others yet.

I just told the dealer that he has a deal if he throws in a set of new tires. Let's see what he comes back with. Might as well try!

Deal fell through. The dealer owner was a real sexist jerk. I ended up walking out. I'm confident that I'll find something good with patience though. Thanks for your help!
