Couchsurfing is not an anonymous user base like CL is. To become a member of CouchSurfing, you must prove your identity (I am a member), so things are a little safer there than on CL. I'm not saying that it is completely safe, but I'd trust a Couchsurfer user more than the unknown CraigsList user.<br><br>In either case, MK7 makes a very valid point; You are taking on a *lot* of risk (from many different angles) to save a few dollars in gas at best.

Good call on couchsurfing.com Van-Tramp.&nbsp; That's probably a good site for Vandwellers traveling and asking to use someone's driveway or even just the street parking in front or nearby their house. As long as they can vouch for you being parked there, it should be good for a few days. I still wouldn't want to go into their house to stay for the night.....it's just strange. Bet there are lots of them trying to hook up for sex and such on both sides. I know people just want to live adventurously, meet new friends, etc.... but there are just too many serial killers and such that we know about nowadays so imagine how many of them aren't caught yet as they're probably very good at it.

I did this once a Mexico forum I'm a member of.&nbsp; I even talked to the woman on skype extensively before I picked her up on the border and headed down into Mexico.&nbsp; It was 3 days of living hell!&nbsp; If we'd of been in the US I would have kicked her out of the van.&nbsp; She did pay her fair share, but she was so controlling that she demanded I listen to her when she was telling me which lane to drive in.&nbsp; She got us lost in a big city and we wandered around for hours.&nbsp; I drew the line when she started trying to tell me what I was doing wrong with my schnauzer.&nbsp; One of the worst experiences ever!

I have been trying to find someone to travel with. I dont drive, can support myself plus gas, etc, but cant seem to find anything on craigslist because theres no one just travelling. Theyre all in a hurry to get from point a to point b. I just want to travel. If you know anyone who wants a passenger, drug free, easy to get along with and will pull their own weight please let me know!
