If you are an adventure junkie like me...these may be of interest....

The first is an online e-zine and I hope you can access it...I don't know, I belong to the HU group so you will just have to see if you can get it...

http://www.horizonsunlimited.com/newsletter/2012-10.shtml

And this is a guy who is riding from Alaska to Argentina on a tiny little Honda Cub....I love it and he is a cool guy....
You do not need a huge machine to go anywhere!

http://hondavstheworld.com/

Enjoy,
Bri

Thanks, Bri! A couple of years ago I read a book by a woman who traveled down the continents: Lois on the Loose: One Woman, One Motorcycle, 20,000 Miles Across the Americas. Good read. I'm also an adventure junkie and have two whole bookshelves of adventure books including several mountain climbing accounts and sea voyages. I especially like solo adventures.

Hi mockturtle....I have Lois' book! And you are right, it is a hoot. What a good read...

On the HU newsletter there are a couple women with blogs who are RTW solo riders..Tiffany Coates and Sherry Jo Wilkins and their blogs look interesting...

I have a bookshelf filled with RTW riders and a few of other vehicle dependent travelers including a couple who did it on bicycles...

These are the only books I collect, and like you I love the stories.

Have many adventures.....
Bri

That was such a good site. I have missed riding my motorcycle this passed year. To take a cross country tour just for the adventure of it would be the cats meow. Alaska proved an adventure when I became the "motorcycle nurse". Even though my fellow nurses tried to get my boss to say I couldn't take the bike out on my visits because it wasn't "professional", my boss wouldn't hear of it...she had her own Harley! HaHa. The patients loved it. I was made to wear black pants so that my chaps didn't look so tough and I wasn't allowed to take my leather jacket into visit, I'd just lock it up on the bike. My patients always had a nurse with helmet hair and black chaps. For four years that motorcycle brought back memories for my patients own adventures and because of that, I got to hear tons of stories from the original Alaskan homesteaders. Its been several years since the bike made a nursing visit. Sure was fun while it lasted.

Thanks for giving me a chance to reminisce.

Rae
