A used $2000 cargo trailer will need next to nothing mechanically...

Except something to adequately pull it with.

The money goes into the vehicle reliability over everything. I can cut back on conversion costs and add/change as time and money permits.

A brand new 6x12 cargo trailer is $2100 in Georgia, with plenty of stand up and walk around room. Rig it up any way you want inside, even with ample A/C and you have a nice "mobile" home that tows easy. I love mine...

Making the bed in short top van was the only time I really found it to be a problem. I got good a "organizing" the blankets to be tidy when I got out of bed.

I had a stool with a pillow that I sat on to cook at kitchen counter and do internet stuff on laptop. I turned out not to be a big deal for me. The bed was low enough so it doubles as a couch.

I was on a timeline to get out of apt, job and on the road, so was most important to get moving rather than wait for perfect van. I think non hightops are cheaper and easier to come by. More stealth and generally easier to drive.

just remember....you are living full time in whatever you get!!

list your priorities as you need. as much as others can say what suits us....it all comes down to what you require :)
