Chevy Express insulating doors: How do I remove door trim that have controls on top?

Hi all!

I have a chevy express, and I'm popping the door trims off so I can stuff it with insulation.

As you can see, I've had no issue with removing door trim where there are no controls present (Lock toggle, door handles, etc):



But for the doors with electronics/controls on them, I'm not sure how this is possible to remove. Any tips for removing the trim on this door that has the controls on it? It almost seems like the round control trim plate is meant to be stacked on top of the main door trim underneath.
