This is just a quick question.

Will it cause any damage to connect a small, very low powered solar panel (trickle charge) to a marine battery that is not in use, for maintaining a full power charge.

Title should have read: Charging Marine Battery! [fixed by mod]

The solar panels that are designed for it, NO. However, you may be better off getting a bigger panel and a controller.

James AKA Lynx

You will be fine. Do not let all the internet cowboys steer you wrong. With trickle charge system you will be fine. A 140 volt system only gives you 7 amps an hour max. So don't fret a smaller system. May a man not in our lifestyle trickle charges hit boat.

Thanks for the response guys.

Somethings, or many things, I just don't know, no matter how simple it may seem to some. Like me, that's why a lot of the people are here - to learn!

But, I can contribute a little something, when and if the time comes.... "What I do have are a very particular set of skills; skills I have acquired over a very long career" - LOL, maybe!? .

~ IMDb: Memorable quotes

Anyway, thanks again guys!

some solar panels have built in charge controllers, some need an external controller.
