Searching for information about a 1989 Champion built on a 1 ton (C30 was the 1 ton right?) Chevy van. DRW, etc. Odometer shows 59K. Google hasn't been much help, I just get Trans Vans which this does not appear to be in looks or badging.

Apologies for the way I'm posting, but I've been a full day trying to post on this forum and not get a 404 error, so when it finally went through I wasn't prepared

I’m not familiar with the Champion . But being an 89 model it’s fuel injected . That’s a plus , if the owner will let you take it to a Mechanic, or have you bought it already? It should have a tag somewhere inside stating who the coach is from . On my class c I have to look for engine stuff under Chevy and coach stuff is Itasca .

Champion is badged just behind the wheel well toward the rear. Champion made RV's (mostly using Dodge chassis/power) and they made the "trans van" but I can't find any info on anything that looks like this one.

I just googled 1989 champion rv and it kinda looks like a transtar that came up under the videos.

Transtar is labeled and one source I found said they stopped production in 86 or 87 so I got confused by it. :)

Considering. Looked at it and drove it yesterday. For the money for what it is it seems decent. Lots of things I'd rather have but...I dunno.

If all the systems work and you like it , if the price is right . If it makes you Happy , Buy it.

It looks to be in good shape I wouldn't be too concerned about the RV Details an 80's model is going to need updating and you can probably use parts from junked RV's from other brands as long as you don't find any repairs to the RV section that you can't handle, I would be more concerned about the Frame-Suspension & Motor take it to a mechanic you trust, its worth spending a few bucks to know what condition its in.

I have a 1994 Chevy Suburban I bought knowing it needed a little exhaust work so my Back Yard Mechanic replaced tailpipe (10ft long) then the Donut Gaskets gave out went to a local exhaust repair shop and he quoted me $200 - $1,000 ($100 hour) second shop quoted me $200 -$500 ($90 Hour) that still seemed like a lot to install a $20 gasket anyway my Retired mechanic Freind drove by and saw the truck up on a ramp asked what I was doing told me to stick with my day job:) took it home called 2 hours later job done $100 I'm telling you this because that little exhaust problem could have cost a lot of money if my friend didn't show up:)

Good Luck!
