Interestingly enough, for residents of states that don't require a CCW permit - like Vermont - they can carry anywhere with just their proof of being a VT resident.

I would totally support national resiprosity.

That said: be careful believing what you read on Breitbart.

Just my opinion . . .

Maine doesn't require an actual permit anymore. So long as you are 21 or over and can own a gun legally federally you can carry concealed. That goes for non residents in Maine as well.

I'd like that a lot, I've spent in excess of $500 (each for my wife and I) to get CCW's in Illinois. All I want is to be able to do is have a gun in the car/camper with me (loaded and not in your house = concealed carry in IL).

Doesn't federal rule override that then where you have to be 18 to purchase rifle and 21 for a handgun?

From an FFL(gun dealer,) yes. Federal law also requires one to be 18 to purchase a handgun from private party or posses one outside of certain activities.

I live in adifferent World!

Just out of curiosity.....since we are BORN with the right to own/carry and the 2nd amend. guarantees it --and since federal laws trump state/local----does that mean that we can "legally" carry (concealed/open ?) on BLM land (and other federal lands) with no license needed ?

Vermont does issues CCW permits.

There was a news item about the increase in applications in Vermont for the CCW permit as national reciprocity approaches.

Also, other states may already recognize a Vermont CCW.
