I work at the factory building the Chevrolet Express. The front impact sensor isn't bolted to the bumper. 4 screws and the grill pops off. Two bolts and the bumper comes off. I think a receiver could be welded to the frame, inside the boxed framerails without any issue with airbags. Would need to cut a hole in the bumper for the receiver to poke through. Only thing is, that is where the front license plate mount is located. Shouldn't be too bad really. Anyone certified to weld could bang one out, easy enough. Btw, the two marker lights cover the two screws for the grill. The markers are snapped in place. Use a plastic trim tool or even a screw driver, stick it into the outside edge and lever the marker light out.
Just my 2 shekels. Hope this helps.
