Anyone use a front hitch receiver for a bike carrier? I am thinking of doing that with my '95 F250 (it's a regular Schwinn bicycle). Any tips or warnings? Thanks.

I would assume that the bike would be more vulnerable to road debris, gravel, etc, from passing vehicles....also more subject to rust if it rains, and of course if you cover it then you will block airflow to the radiator.

Depending on the arrangement, it might partially block one or both headlights or turn signals...so be sure to check that.

But sometimes that is the only practical place to carry a bicycle.

A couple of years ago, a driver in the lane next to me slammed on his brakes for a red light, and ended up halfway into the intersection. So he backed up into the front-mounted bike on the pickup behind him.

Unfortunately, the options for carrying a bike are limited.
