I closed my Twitter and Tumblr accts months ago because I had all I could stand of the drama and hysteria. My Facebook acct is still open, but I have blocked dozens of political sites from being reposted on my page and unfollowed a number of friends, for the same reason. There's still Youtube. I choose what I want to watch, there, but the politics are still seeping in.

I am so very tired of this.

Right there with you, I've blocked friends and unsubscribed from loads of sites. We all know where we stand, no one is changing their minds, so just let it be and for gods sake, stop talking about it!!

I've found my best place to keep up to date is Steven Colbert's YouTube channel...he makes me laugh even making fun of a position I may agree with....

i dont do social media but do get the phone calls and have had the pleasure of both main candidates hanging up on me and my quit harsh opinion about them,it might of been the repeat f bombs i would guess

There are days when I agree completely with you.  And days when I just can't help myself - it's like watching a train wreck.

Unfortunately, I don't think that things will get any better after the election.  The differences between the two sides have become so extreme that no matter which side wins, the losers are, I'm afraid, going to remain in hysterical opposition to the winners.

I was a history major in college, and I have to say that this level of hatred hasn't been seen since the period right before the Civil War.

You can go to Uganda and have a President for Life and never have to worry about the political process again.

Not an option.

They do not have In~N~Out Burger.  :(

I accept your greater knowledge of the subject and believe you, but I don't like it.

It's not the campaigning that I object to. It's the single minded focus and the hysterical viciousness of it, evidence or reason be damned. My elderly aunt and her son moved near her granddaughter in Florida month ago. She is still hammering everyone with reposted religious and political crap, but I have yet to hear how the trip went or whether she was able to sell her old car or to see pics of her new place or to hear how she is coping with the humidity or to see pics of her greatgranddaughters.

I have several friends and family members who seem to be deranged in the same way. A friends daughter just left for Navy bootcamp. It has been in the works for several months, and we only heard of it because another friend mentioned it in passing. Meanwhile, "mom" has been posting and reposting election drivel.

well , at least you know they're gonna vote......or do you?

As a non American (Canadian), I think its hilarious......................Then I look at what we got stuck with after our election last year and I start crying........

Drop off the candidates on a road somewhere down in southern Mainland Mexico. The one who makes it to the border first will get my vote.

I avoid as much of the election "news" as possible.  What gives me hope is remembering that the wrost president in history did not cause the collapse of the U.S.

I don't waste my energy on getting upset with what others conversations are about in regards to the election, and I certainly don't unfriend people because they don't have the same political views as me.

If I don't feel like putting in my two cents then I just scroll past it and ignore it......it's quite simple. hahaha

I keep saying we need an "American Idol" style election system.
Let them debate weekly on national television and we'll keep voting them off 'til only one is left.
But maybe "Survivor" style would be more fun.

I don't see this election or any election or anybody's political views as cause to get upset, angry, mad, etc, etc. After all, why would my political beliefs be any more right or wrong than the person standing next to me? If something doesn't appeal to me, I just scroll on by or change the channel. As far as this country going down the drain.........every generation has said something to that effect for hundreds of years. Human nature idealizes their past, exactly why there is a saying that will never die...."Like the good old days" I consider the 80's the generation I grew up in to be the good old days before technology really took root, my grandmother despised the 80's and swore they'd be the death of this country. That cycle of love/hate didn't begin with my generation and certainly won't end with my grandmothers.

People give politicians too much credit. Trump didn't invent racism, he didn't revive it, him not getting elected president won't end it. Hillary didn't invent corrupt politicians, she didn't revive it, her not being elected won't be the end of corruption in politics, Sanders didn't invent government handouts, he didn't revive them, him not getting elected won't end it. Politicians are human. We're human. The traits politicians carry, the entire population carries. Therefore whomever is president, will have traits that a large percentage of the population carry. So don't worry if the current one doesn't share your particular beliefs, because a few years down the road you'll get one that does.

There's a election? Well I'll be. Real life must have popped up and distracted me.
