This may sound funny coming from a veteran vanner, but sometimes I need to pee in the (low-top) van, but not often enough for a dedicated potty space. I gave up on Go Girl type devices long ago, finding them too "iffy" in the wee (tee hee) hours. My go to (in?) has been a Folgers coffee container with lid. I've had two recent episodes of missing the mark: one inside, and one in my shelter. Maybe it's too big? I loathe the lidea of completely removing pants and shoes to avoid complications. Any advice is much appreciated.

With the disclaimer that I haven't tried it, would a flexible funnel prevent the problem? Like something on this page:

What kind of laundry detergent do you use? Maybe one like Arm & Hammer liquid? It has two parts that could make it useful: a handle, and a wide mouth (about 3" across) with an inner pour spout that can be removed. I wouldn't use the biggest ones. Look at them the next time you go shopping. Be sure to rinse it thoroughly before using.

A wide mouth jar works. my emergency one is a Nalgene water bottle I found at a thrift store. To prevent missing the mark you need to gently press it up against your body with your urethra in the opening of the jar so the flow does not miss the jar opening.

What do most people do with the pee? Pour it into a laundry bottle, then take it into a restroom to flush it? What about #2? I'm using a luggable loo and 5 gallon bucket with kitty litter.

I leave tomorrow and need to know

Dumping the urine in a restroom toilet is fine.

Since you're using kitty litter, you can't dump #2 down a toilet. If you're dumping frequently (smaller amounts), you could probably drop (bagged) in dumpsters, but for larger amounts, find a local landfill (garbage dump) and deposit it there. They take baby and adult diapers, and dog and cat chit, so there should be no problem.

Thank you. What a messy business. I assumed everyone was using litter, wood chips, etc. But, if no medium is used, then it can go straight in the toilet. Hmm. So, like the laundry detergent bottle, I would want a tote bag specifically for disguising the #2 when going into restrooms.

I use a large McDonald's tea/soda cup then pour the pee into a Folger's coffee container with lid. The tea cup needs to be held firmly in place against the body until finished peeing. I carry a black cloth tote with the Folger's jug hidden inside and dump it into the toilet of the first public restroom of the day. Then I add a few drops of liquid soap, swish the jug around a bit, dump, rinse and it's good to go til the next day.

If I wear a long skirt and go commando while driving, I can park down a dirt side road, step out of the car, face the driver's seat and pull the door against my backside, then use the McD's cup without being noticed. It only takes a few minutes, then as Willy would sing "I'm on the road again...can't wait to get back on the road again..."

If you are doing dispersed camping empty your pee jar away from your, or any other person's, campsites. If you are doing a longer stay do not always choose the same spot to empty it, not a great plan to create an odor buildup in one location.

A clear 2 liter soda pop bottle, cut near the upper third but through the wide part and at a diagonal, allows tilted use with wide opening, then because it's very deep it doesn't spill and very flexible so it can be poured out or into another container.

I found a funnel in the auto section (Walmart - try on a few), added surgical tubing to the end of it (Home Depot), and put it into a plastic gallon jug (water or ice tea jug). This is tied to the leg of a table so the jug doesn’t move when driving. I stand and put the funnel up to my body and go. The funnel is loosely tied to the table leg, so I let go of it when done and it falls back into place. I spritz into funnel with vinegar, then wipe myself with wet wipe and shove wet wipe into the funnel top. This stops the smell of urine from wafting up during the night. Next morning, I dump urine out of jug and rinse with vinegar or water and put funnel back in and secure to table leg. I would rather pee in my van than anywhere else now.

#2: I use 5 gallon bucket but fill it with TP half way up and then put a small bucket with 4 gallon plastic bag (Walmart) lining it. The smaller bucket (collapsable bucket from Walmart camping section) fits the inside of 5 gallon HD bucket with the toilet seat on it and I can use much smaller bags inside. When finished, I put bag into zip lock bag (can fit 2 in zip lock), and toss into the first garbage can I see. I do not store these used bags inside because even though they are water proof, they are not smell proof. The odor will start to waft through the zip lock bag in an hour or two. When boondocking, I put these bags into a 2 gallon Igloo water container with screw top till I get back to a dumpster. I keep the Igloo container tied to the back cargo rack.

Wide mouth jar. You need to gently press it up against your body as you pee so nothing misses the mark. I have an orange colored Nalgene bottle for that. It is the right diameter but tall enough so that it does not slosh out the contents with movement of disengaging it to put the screw cap on. The orange color disguises the contents so if you need to empty it in a public restroom toilet you can walk into a public place with it with no embarrassment.

I use a mainstay shaker bottle from Walmart. It's the perfect size and I don't think I can miss since it's right there.

In my SUV I had the seats folded down except for the one behind the driver's seat. It has many layers of protection on it, and for #1 I use a bedpan in this little bathroom "stall".

It's lined with a plastic bag, then with doggie pee floor pads for absorption. I don't use it often, but if I were to use it more I would use litter. If there were no absorbing substance and If one could transfer it immediately, it could be poured into another container.

It might not work for everyone, depending on space/suitable space. If one has a flat surface (raised? - like a sturdy box?) t could work. I don't put my full weight on it. Now that I think of it, since it's such a big area to pee into, could be done standing (?)
