Just now my wife showed me a 3 br 1 bath home on 2 wooded acres aprox 1800 sf with 2 porches, car port, large shed, sets off the Rd on a ridge with no houses on either side near Crossville Tn. Her friend's son just bought in the $70k range. Built around 1980. Great deal for that area. Owner went to home or died, kids just wanted the $$.

I just posted 4 remote places with remote acreage and various houses 36 to 60 acres from $39k to just over $100k All from ONE realtor! So tell me HOW I've "destroyed generations of the lown" What is "the lown" anyway? Once again these fit what you said you wanted but no deals in the US cause us Boomers got together and screwed everyone younger than us over. Bullsh*t my friend. I found these in an hour. Get off your poor poor pitiful me arse & quit blaming others. Deals are most everywhere, go find yours. If you move from the US for free land you'll be under the biggest thumb you've never seen. Don't you think that "deals" might not be as great as first thought, going just by the land purchase? What happens after you buy it? How hard or how much will it be to get it liveable like water, sewer, electricity, etc? Property taxes come every year and other factors to consider.
For me personally, " good deals" have been rare.
Maybe buying an Ambo for van life might be a good example. Because the purchase price is low, is it really a great deal overall? Not sure and everyone's perspective, wants, and desires will be different.

Don't you think that "deals" might not be as great as first thought, going just by the land purchase? What happens after you buy it? How hard or how much will it be to get it liveable like water, sewer, electricity, etc?

He's looking for a secluded place to raise animals & grow plants so he'll need property. If it needs work & on he can do it it's a deal. Most of the 4 I posted have well & septic.Maybe watch the YTs. My ambo is in in great shape & a great buy. Happy New Year to you & everyone.

Know of one an old man in rural KY who sold his house on acreage, that was worth 120k at that time, for 10k to a slick out of state man back in 2012. His son was really mad later. These are the only "deals" possible now. The rest got inflated and pumped up, worst time in history to buy real estate in the states

Good point. In the states they will rape you with property taxes almost anywhere, expensive home insurance, crazy building and land development expenses, etc. Cost of land is just a small part to get started. Me getting truly cheap or free pasture land and house with almost no taxes attached elsewhere, where everything is cheaper I call it a deal that works for me
