Rokguy - nice boat!! gives me ideas.

Wagoneer - yes thinking that most could buy some CAMP land to set up a temporary place. Many states do have that designation of a piece of land as a CAMP and thus no or lowest taxes, and no issue with staying there for extended periods. Even the northeast states have CAMP land available.

But BLM land is free and there are no taxes. Just have to move around a wee bit.

getting 40k after taxes from my ira. It will go fast if I do not have a plan. Sparks has a flea market and with my city savvy perhaps some income would surface.

seems the conversation has wandered a bit. am okay with that. Buying a base piece of land may not be the least expensive option if you can find BLM land to camp on for two weeks. But then you need to move. Maybe if there was some long term working event that you could stay at, like a festival where you worked for a seasonal accommodations. Think that circles around to some work camp duties. maybe the best of all ideas is to find that care taker, work camp place for a three month assignment, then move on afterwards.

Just be careful of scams....i was on craigslist last night and seen a '5 acre' listing and when i went to google map it the satellite showed it was a large parking lot of some major store (i think a lowes). I knew it was a scam cause they only wanted 750$ for it

And be careful many parcels of land you will need 4wheeler or horse to get to it. Always go look at the parcel and make sure survey markers are In place so there will be no land dispute.

HEY OFROAD YOU GOTTA GOOD IDEA Not disparate but 3.5 hours from my land home and in NV. I'm thinking about it perhaps a large toughshed on a cement pad with solar. Just picked up a aluminum diamondplate workbox long enough to lay on, sleep and store perhaps a wood frame on top to put a mattress on. see ye.
