Nothing to brag about.  Caught a few small ones while waiting for the bigger fish to show.

HDR...These are what I was catching for bait lol

Raining out sooo, did laundry.  This container holds all my clothes; 3 pants, 6 T’s, and 6 underwear.  Fits nicely under the front half of the bed with 3 other same size containers.  This is my entire wardrobe,  minus what I’m wearing and 1 sweatshirt, 1 hoody and 1 insulated rain/wind jacket.  The other half of the bunk is accessible through the back doors and holds my fishing  tackle.

So you have your priorities right as it seems you got more fishing tackle than clothes and no socks!

A good balance :). Nope, no socks...crocs and tennis shoes are my only foot gear :)

Well, it’s still raining so decided to visit a bait n tackle shop in search of a saltwater spinning reel.  Plan on putting it to work tomorrow.

You probably already know but when checking out Texas fishing license if in a state park none is required and they sometimes have "classes" that I would think you could get some local tips on what works, anyway keep everything from rusting and good luck fishing.

that's a snazzy lookin reel!  (I fish, therefore I am)  but.. I fish inland small and Great Lakes.. so..

do you have to have a 'salt water' reel?

I was told the main difference is the lube they use inside and longer crank handles but I really abuse my reels and rods. Salt water reels were on sale and cheaper than the fresh water same version so I bought a couple. They seemed a little stiffer to crank when new but I can not tell much difference now that they have some use. Also I use braided line on everything (30lb to 50lb) as I mostly dock fish around a lot of cables so that affects cranking resistance also I guess but I really don't notice any difference between them now.

JustACarSoFar....short answer, no you don’t need a saltwater specific reel. Having said that, just make sure you rinse reel with freshwater after use and clean/oil more frequently. This is the first “saltwater “ reel I’ve ever bought, I like the idea that the bearings and gears are sealed. I will still rinse it off daily.

Hi Bob, How are the girls! Getting ready to hit the road with my little one and sure hope she likes. I think she will.

Hi Sleep, the girls are doing great and enjoying the beach :). I was concerned about how they’d travel as well, they’ve done super. All the best on your journey.

Indianola Marina, my kind of place.  Great little place to fish, buy bait, and eat.  Weekends, live music and every Friday is steak night, $9.99 for 8 oz ribeye, baked potato and salad.

HDR....Happy indeed and a lifetime memory. Nothing like watching kids fishing :)

Met a lot of great people last night at Indianola Marina.  I was just an observer and will be fishing here starting Monday.

My kind of place, Indianola Marina.  Indianola, once a major Texas seaport, is now a ghost town, but Indianola Marina perseveres.  I spent New Years Eve here last year.  Life is good.

Thanks for the info on Indianola. I usually hang out around Rockport and Port Aransas but they've gotten busy and fancy. Indianola is not far from there so I can visit it too. Maybe I'll have myself a new hang out place.
