Blogging is a good way to share your experiences and adventures with friends, family, and anyone else who finds you on the web. It can be fun, informative, serve as a log or journal, but many times used to make a buck for those who work at it. (Bob is an example of all of those).

Due to a post I made on another site, Techomadia has scheduled a video cast for this Thursday (4-17-14) at 8pm CST entitled,"Is RV Blogging Right for You?".
http://www.technomadia.com/video/

I'll be there to glean from their experience.

Thanks for the info, I think I'll listen in myself. I'm very new to blogging but have gotten great feedback and really enjoy it. Once I get on the road, I'll have lots more to write about. Would love to learn how to make a few penny's from my blog.

Definitely not for me. Blogging is not compatible with my "Nothing in my life is anybody's damn business but my own" attitude.

Regards
John

Again, John,
I totally agree. Though, through a site like this I can grow in knowledge so I can learn lessons the easy way from previous vandwellers.

Blogging isn't for everyone, but for some of us its fun to write and share our exploits. I'm not so paranoid that I worry about someone knowing I've been in a certain place, and you're certainly not going to be knocking on my door if I don't tell you where I'm parked.
I have nothing to hide from anyone that might posted in a blog.
If its not for you I can respect that.

I'll check out that video cast.
I've been trying to "vlog" for a couple months, definitely not for me, I don't have the imagination to come up with topics, or the memory to know what I was talking about. however I'm going to keep trying until I can't come up with any content or a get in a nice groove.

I have watched a few of their chats. The information that they have is interesting and it is neat that people are asking them questions. Both of them are a good balance together to hit all the highlights. I'm at a different stage in my life where I have to be low-key or I would loose my job. Some of the world doesn't necessarily value Vandwelling and looks down on it. At my job, if you even post your opinions on a personal site like facebook, this affects if they will keep you hired because you affect their image. For example, if you were seen on a facebook post drinking with friends and holding up alcohol in a glass, this surely affects if they want to hire you. Some day, I won't be dependent on a pay check, and my life will be more free. I have a lot of fun in that you are all my dear friends and I love this lifestyle. Thanks for understanding.

It sucks that a job has control over your off duty hours. I'm sure quite different than your work, but my employees were only scored on job performance. I would have never nose into what they did on their own time and would defend their right to do so. All I ever asked was do your job and stay sober at work.

I hope you can break free soon.

If i have something going on i like to blog about it. But as you can see from my blog, that means huge gaps in time between posts which equates to no traffic :D Definitely couldn't make money off it, but when i actually do something fun i want to keep a record of it for myself more than anything. Plus since im alone, it gives me a way to share with an imaginary friend in a way. Yes im crazy.

We haven't given up on Bindi's blog. I'm trying to revamp the blog page some, but the tech end is hard for me. I'd like to make the page more attractive and add some feature I see on other blogs. I'd love to have a nice site like yours (Tony&Karen), but I don't seem to be able to get there. If I could afford it, I'd pay to have it done...not in the budget tho.
I may have to give up and live with the simple stock design.
I envy people who are able to make a computer do all the things they are designed to do.
Sometimes its hell having learning disabilities, yet its something I've dealt with all my life.

you could name it......Dear Bindi !!!.......and all your answers could be of living on the road "Snarkasm ".....its a dog's life!!! :)

Mike...that's a cool idea. We chose "My New Life", description "Traveling With Bindi". Maybe could have been more creative with the title, but Bindi tells the stories.
We might confuse the few readers we have by revamping the title too.

The idea came about because Bindi watches me while I'm on the laptop and "speaks" in little chortling sounds as I'm typing.

I have a blog and enjoy it - for the moment. I've posted a lot of pictures of where I have been because I thought that others may enjoy knowing the looks of the place that I visited. (I also use google pictures for info about an area.) When I started the blog, I expected more comments. However, others tell me that they have seen the blog, but prefer not to leave comments. I plan to continue with the blog until my 'free' space usage of wordpress is up. In case you wanted to know my url, see http://www.PuddinInVannaWhite.wordpress.com Note: I like wordpress because it has stats and will tell you how many visits you had. It took me a while to learn how to use the product and I'm sure that I made many mistakes along the way. jxh

Blogger has a stats dashboard too. Its cool to see where some of the hits come from around the world. I suspect many of them are web crawlers tho.
I don't know enough to tell.

Since you're using blogger, enable analytics for a more accurate respresentation of real versus bot visitors to your site. Between the two you get some great information.

I started my travel blog to let my family (mostly hubby) share in the journey and wonderful places I was exploring. It turned out that other folks were interested in what I was blogging too. And, it sparked some joy in picture-taking as I got positive feedback about my photos. Finally, it's become the place I share information about how I live out of a Prius. It's great to have a site with pictures to refer folks with questions.
