I'm not stupid by any means, and I'm doing my best to figure out this solar stuff. But honestly, my eyes start to glaze over with all the technical jargon and conversions and the many, many different opinions on what is the right way to do this. I have read and watched videos and I don't think I'm any less confused than I was six months ago. Looking forward to the seminar on solar and desperately hoping it's a "Solar for Dummies" rather than technical specs. I'm sure I'm not the only one in this situation.

Hopefully there will be collaboration of knowledge and those with higher levels of experience can just show how they install solar and what results they get.  I'm sure there will be conflicting opinions but that happens in just about every thing.  We're all adults and we all need to have open minds to learn all we can.  With any luck those in attendance will walk away with a ton more knowledge and understanding than they had before the workshop began.

Exactly....I could have wrote this post. I wanted solar before RTR or atleast the components bought so I could get help installing.  Sure, I understand a bit more but like you said sooooooo many different opinions and debates going on over technical specs. I’m pretty much where I was when I started watching videos and reading posts on solar.

I shall attempt to make solar basics understandable in the seminar. The thing is it is a push the button type of thing and as we know from the forum, you can google every answer out there and really have no idea until you actually have a system and can see how it reacts to your needs, your battery and your conditions. That is when the jargon sets in because you see the panel/s producing different amps on the controller in different conditions. You will see the battery's voltage climb with those amps or fall when you use power. That is when you really see if you have enough solar and battery to cover your needs in your conditions.
