Hi folks!

TBJRoadshow here.

My husband CheapGeek1 (videos) and I bought our hightop Dodge Ram Van last year and made it into a very simple campervan over the winter.  In January, we made the decision to start down-sizing our lives slowly.  But in April, his work decided they needed to send us out west (New Mexico) for a while.

So we made our way from the East coast to New Mexico, and it gave us our first "full time, on the road" experience with our Great White Buffalo (w/video) (That's what we call our Dodge).

I had to quit my job when we moved.  So, for part-time money I help small businesses and people set up complete Social Media profiles (I'm like a discount PR, Marketing, and Tech Support company all-in-one) to help promote their Youtube/Blog/Business/whatev's.  I built a small podcast and blog around our Travel and Part-Time Camper-Vanning travels at "The Turquoise and Beef Jerky Roadshow" -since there doesn't seem to be many DIY vandwellers out there, we added "Weird News" to our list of topics we talk about.

Lately (because of my husbands job and a lack of money), we take the Great White Buffalo out 1-2 times a month for about a week.  My husbands current job requires ALOT of electronics, so we haven't given up everything just yet to be full-time vandwellers.

Our biggest hurdles at the moment are trying to get some residual income setup, stable, and flowing....and making some minor cosmetic improvements inside our van to allow for a clean, organized setup that still gives us and our dogs room to walk about/function inside the van.

We're hoping to have enough money together to make it to some of the larger vandweller meetups, and learning where/when those meetups are!

Welcome to the CheapRVLiving forums TBJ!  It sounds like you both are well on your way.  Consider attending the Rubber Tramp Rendezvous (RTR) this January in Quartzsite, AZ. Hope to see you there!

Since we have many members living on-the-cheap with limited data and/or bandwidth, we ask that you label links as video or media-heavy so they can be avoided by these folks.  I labeled some links for you.  Also, we ask that you provide a written description with a few photos (max 640x480) for the benefit of those that cannot access data-intensive links.

To help you learn the ins and outs of these forums, this "Tips & Tricks" post lists some helpful information to get you started.

We look forward to reading more about your vandwelling experiences.
