Am I maybe misunderstanding the word 'hubcentric'?
the wheels that came with the truck have center bores that appear to contact the axle flange all the way around, and the wheels I bought, though off another Ranger according to the seller, (who was driving a Ranger) have a visible gap between the center bore and the axle flange, the guys that put the tires on noted it, and the folks on the Ranger forum seem to think it's a problem re bent / broken lug studs
Acciording to one fellow the axle flange on the newer models is bigger

Thanks for the tip but no genny here, I'll be living sans electric lol

The tube that carries the liquid fuel up to be gasified by heat from the mantles is called the generator.  The inside is complex to increase surface area / heat transfer.  The insides will get fouled by the various additives in unleaded, requiring earlier replacement.

Sidenotes for dorks like me:
  • pressure gear flares when first lit because the genny is cool.   It can't turn the liquid fuel into vapor yet for efficient burning so raw fuel is getting to the ignition point.  It is running massively rich.    As the generator collects heat from the flames it starts producing fuel vapor which burns correctly.   Kero lanterns require preheating with alcohol in order to heat the genny or they'd never start. You can do the same with a coleman fuel lantern to reduce flare-up.  Squirt a bit up into the bottom through the lighter holes and light it.  Crack the fuel valve just before the blue alcohol flame goes out.
  • in a stove the generator runs across the top of the burner to get the preheating effect
  • the classic hissing sound of coleman gear is the liquid fuel gasifying
Ok, I'll shut up about pressure gear now.  :)

I had no Idea, haven't ever used one and haven't read the instructions yet Might need someone to teach me how to lantern lol
Have already had the idea that that lantern will likely be a good heat source as well as light, on a colder night

Coleman made lanterns for the Military Much more robust and no problem with unleaded, Canadian Coleman lanterns were often Kerosine they have a small bowl under the element to preheat the tubing used to vaporize the kerosine. I still don't like the hissing sound in the wild.

You can buy hub-centric plastic rings to accommodate for the difference in center bore. Measure the two and head to ebay.

Thanks cerve, I plan to do that as soon as I can find a way to measure the center bore of the wheels, the only tool available to me to do this right now is a micrometer that won't fit the center bore due to the offset of the wheels, I have a friend who might have a better tool

Upgrade! scored this off El Campo Buy, Sell, or trade, guy had it on a Ranger he was trying to sell, so I asked if he'd sell just the camper

Aaaaa , all I see is a circle with a minus sign....?

Thanks, any idea why the pic didn't post? I'm all but computer illieterate

I remember I was initially tryiny to post pics from Google and people couldn't see them. IIRC, it was because a person had to have a Google account or be logged in or something. I ended up using Photobucket for that reason...but I'd only recommend it if you're using Adblock Plus. Otherwise the spam ads can make the site nearly unusable...

See it this time. I think,,,pickup with a white cap on the back ??
No idea why last try didn't work.

Yes indeed, RV Popeye, same truck I started with, new, higher roofer cap, got the cap off El Campo buy, sell, or trade, the guy was selling a Ranger with a cap (that one) and I asked if he'd sell just the cap
He said $100
I said on my way
I was 15 min late for work lol
