What's the range of expected temperatures (yeah I've heard of global warming) in the area where you, Bob, and others hang out? I've been talking about going down there for Thanksgiving, and my husband is concerned it would be too hot for us. I checked Yuma's weather this morning and the high was expected to be 93, a bit rich for our blood...

In the Phoenix area it has been in the high 80s to lows 90s, but in the 70s at night, in the open desert areas around a little cooler at night, because it doesn't have all the concrete and pavement. During the day fans seem to help a bunch. By the end of October, it's supposed to be in the mid 80s for the highs and the low 60s at night.

It will not be too hot at Thanksgiving. It could be cold so bring coats and cold weather gear. Most likely it will be very pleasant.

It's still too hot down there for me right now but I expect that to change in the next week or two.
Bob

Yuma is always a few degrees warmer than Quartzite and Ehrenberg, Arizona. I check the weather for Yuma and Ehrenberg every morning when I have my coffee...mid-eighties to high-eighties by the end of October, at least that is the forcast. I have a few projects on my van to take me to the end of October here in Cottonwood, Arizona and then will leave for the wonderful desert the first week of November. The weather should be great!

Sameer, I've been watching the weather down there and it seems perfect!! Low 80s every day. I'm headed your way soon!

For those who don't know Cottonwood is just a few miles from Sedona one of the Most beautiful places on the planet! It's also only 4 miles from his camp to the front door of a Super Walmart!

Bob, give me a 'heads-up' if you come before the 31st as I am camping in your favorite spot, as was Wayne before me. I will relinquish it to you. I want to make a final tour of Sedona and camp for a few days in Winslow to visit friends that I met during the "Standing on the Corner" festival. A fantastic 3 day event that culminated with the crowning of 'Miss Flatbed Ford"... Live Music too..Remarkable! There is a campground by a small river with real toilets and swimming. Free! Winslow is a real 'Route 66' town! I want to do all of that before I head South...!

Cottonwood is just right temperature wise, but it feels warm after getting used to Flagstaff weather.

wolfdancer...You are absolutely right...the weather is beautiful and feels warm in the afternoon. I spent Summer in the high-country of Colorado and Flagstaff. I have only been here in Cottonwood a short time acclimating to the warmer weather. Checked the weather South as I do every morning and temperatures are falling South. Ehrenberg in the mid-eighties by Sunday...I have such 'itchy feet' I just might bite the bullet and head South on Sunday. I thought I would do some more touring of this area....But I yearn for the Great Desert and it's beautiful sunsets. To me it is like going home.

So, it's November 22 as i write this. Daytime highs in southwest Arizona are in the 70s. Overnight lows are in the 40s. Whether it's high or low 70s and 40s depends on elevation. Quartzite is about 900 feet, Ehrenberg is about 300 feet, Yuma is about 140 feet. Wind can make a big difference. With the exception of this past Sunday (when there were 20-30mph winds) and yesterday (when the wind was enough in some places to have flags flying straight) the air has been relatively still. It's 9:56 AM in Quartzite as I write this and my thermometer reads 68 degrees in the shade. Yesterday's maximum (when I was in Yuma) was 79. Daytime highs are expected to drop into the 60s next week with lows in the low 40s.
