Recently I started monetizing my blog. I'm not expecting to make any real money on it, just a meal or two each month would be nice. If I made up the cost of a tank of fuel each month I couldn't be happier. I know I am not alone in being an Amazon Associate seller (Bob is one as well) earning a few percent off every sale through our blogs and aStores.

I regularly buy things on Amazon. This month alone I have spent more than $300 on Amazon.com. I can't make any money off my own purchases, but I can offer my purchases to others. I'd be happy to visit another person's blog or aStore before making my purchases, giving that person the percentage of all my purchases. This is something we can all be doing to help each other out. All we need is a simple list... I will start.

Moderators, I'd be happy to maintain this list if I had the rights. It may be worthy of a Sticky post as well

My aStore contains links to all the products I use regularly and/or write about on my blog,
or you can simply start your shopping by entering Amazon through this link (links to Bob's book)

Collecting profit from a blog/forum paid for by the person you then compete with for limited sales. Brilliant capitalism at it's worst.
Bob will be proud of your quick study.

If Amazon sees you asking for "clicks" they will shut you down pronto. I know, technically, that's not what you're asking or suggesting. It could be interpreted that way, though.

Hmmm, I hadn't thought of it that way. Well, not all my ideas are great :)

Obviously Bob & Co can agree with that view and remove this thread. No complaints from me if that happens.

I think he was asking more to swap on items we buy for ourselves. I buy a ton of stuff on Amazon. If Van Tramp were to make purchases through my site (if I was an associate) and I reimbursed by making purchases through his we would both be winners. I thought that you only got credit if it was an item you advertised, am I wrong? None of the many things I've bought are mentioned on Bobs blog so nobody got credit. I figured I would go through him to buy the Mr Buddy Heater when I was ready.

Yes, decodancer that is what I was trying to say, thank you for understanding.

An associate still gets credit for any sale that has gone "through" any of his/her links within a 24 hour period. So, you could click on a link that Bob supplies, ignore it and move onto a different item, buy it, and Bob would still get a percentage.

I see you using a forum that Bob finances to bypass his associate deal to profit your own associate deal.

I'm sorry you see it that way ccbreder. It is as far from the truth as possible though.

As I said before, Bob is welcome to remove this thread if he too feels that way with no complaints from me.

I am an Amazon affiliate - I don't buy a lot but I'd be happy to buy through someone's affiliate link :)

Mine can be found on my website.

They will get credit - just not as much.

For instance - if the link is for Bob's book and you buy that - he will get full credit.

If you click on his book link and then look around Amazon and buy something else - he will get credit but just not as high of a percentage (and trust me, it's not a lot either way, lol)

So yes - click on the affiliate link and then get whatever you want at Amazon - they will get a little something :)

For those that wish to drop Bob a few extra dollars, his amazon affiliate can easily be accessed by clicking through one of his links on his store page and then shop all you want. Bob will get a few % from anything you purchase within the 24 hours of accessing Amazon via his store.

GypsySilver's web page is http://manywindows.com and there is a link into Amazon on the right column on that web page.

I will be sure to send a few purchases to these in the coming weeks as I have a few things sitting lined up to be purchased when the time is right.

I'm unfortunately a resident of one of the states that Amazon doesn't associate with for whatever reason. I used to be able to get around it with a third party service but they've been forced to enforce it now, so there's no way for me to take advantage of one of the best affiliate programs out there. That said, I am an ebay affiliate and can make money there, but my portable video gaming blog isn't exactly a high traffic site.

I think this is a great idea. I'm not sure show it would work if there were 20 or 30 affiliates involved. I'm all for funneling a percentage of my Amazon sales to one or more of you guys, but at some point the question of who gets my sales comes up and I'm not sure how I'd make the decision, because I'm sure all of you could use the cash.

I suppose if no one is "relying" on the income and it's just one of those "hey awesome I got $20 extra this month" kind of thing, it'd be no big deal.
