I've seen some videos on YouTube whereby a video camera is mounted somewhere near the dashboard to videotape the road while driving.

One guy uses a video camera to record road trips for fun memories. That how I found out some roads going to a campsite in Santa Cruz Big Basin are really dangerous with narrow and curvy blind turns. Another video I saw was a guy in Russia (Soviet Union) who always video records everything while driving to protect himself because scammers will jump in front of your car and claim that you hit them. Other video clips showed all kinds of crazy car crash accidents in Russia.

So this got me thinking. Should I get some type of small video camera to mount on my dashboard or to the windshield mirror for recording fun times and/or to protect myself in case sh!t happens? Apparently even police cars have video cameras constantly recording the action while on the road. I see some of the craziest videos from the TV show "Cops".

I know that Go Pro makes a small video camera, but after doing some online review, I find too many conflicting reports of this particular brand ranging from poor battery life, to camera freezing, etc.

Sony recently came out with their own version of an "action" video camera called the Sony Action Cam, and I was considering this model too, per link below, but I have no opinion on this either.
http://store.sony.com/webapp/wcs/st...15-4589-f364-00001dd8bb20&XID=O:HDRAS15/Bg_gglpla&kpid=8198552921666484197&XID=O:hdras15/bg_gglsrchla&cagpspn=pla
