For those who are using Amazon, are you having trouble getting your packages on time?

Much of the equipment in my van came from Amazon. The shipping used to be very quick - even the free shipping.

Recently almost every package I get from Amazon uses Fed Ex Smartpost. The packages are getting routed all over and arriving very late. It's pretty irritating. Apparently, the problem is happening to quite a few of Amazon's customers...

I was wondering if anyone in our group has ended up having this occur... For example, I have a package that was coming from Kansas through Fed Ex Smartpost and after eight days, it is now in Chicago!

Grrrrr...

V.T.

I just got two solar panels, a charger, and an inverter from Amazon and it all went well. But then, I have an Amazon Prime account too. Ordered everything Monday, got it Wednesday.

I tend to have this problem when I don't buy directly from Amazon, as is someone who is selling an item via Amazon but is not affiliated with the company itself. My medic bag took a long time to get here, but otherwise all of my items arrived promptly.

Not me Brad...I have had good luck with Amazon and their affiliates....awesome in fact....maybe I live close to a warehouse?????
Good luck,
Bri

In the past I have used Amazon with not too many difficulties when it comes to delivery issues. I've orderer maybe a dozen or so items and only had one problem with getting a book delivered by the due date. Otherwise I've had minimal problems with Amazon.

I use Amazon all the time and the only time I have had a problem was when I bought something that wasn't "Fulfilled by Amazon", but came direct from the seller. I also have Prime and my stuff arrives within two days, if not earlier.

Fedex is the worst. I hate when amazon uses them. I have never had a problem with ups or post except once. The shipment never arrived, and when i told amazon they sent it next day shipping for free.

I ordered a little apartment washing machine from amazon, and the fedex guy came. He made me go to the end of the driveway and take it off his truck. I was so mad. Im pretty sure they aren't supposed to make you take stuff off the truck. I picked it up with one hand and carried it lumberjack style. Asked the guy if it was too heavy for him, its ok, it looks like it might be for you. UPS brought that stuff to my door, and if i was asleep the guy knew me and would leave it on the porch, if it was raining he would even put a trash bag around it for me.

Now days, I've had a LOT of trouble with Fed Ex. It's kind of interesting to see how many people online are complaining about shipping problems with Fed Ex. It makes nme wonder if Amazon is going to realize how bad it is and that it might result in business loss...

V.T.

As far as Fedex vs UPS or USPS I have muc.h better service with the two latter. I find that it is difficult to use UPS for shipping out though as the only thing we have a place to mail stuff from is the USPS, otherwise you have to call and have them pick stuff up and no telling when they will come by, etc., etc
Bri

I order from Amazon every month and always choose free shipping when it's available. Most of my stuff is sent by FedEx Smartpost.

Since they've been using FedEx, the free shipping seems to take an average of a couple of days longer. But it does always arrive in a reasonable amount of time (for free shipping).

I, too, miss UPS. Their delivery guys are the best. I loved having everything handed to me or left neatly on my back deck. Like DZ said, they would also put my packages in plastic bags if it was rainy.

Remember the video of the FedEx guy throwing the computer monitor over the fence into someone's yard? I think that is a pretty clear demonstration of the difference between FedEx and UPS.

I seem to be the only person who has had consistently bad luck with UPS. They lose packages, packages arrive damaged, or they don't even bother to knock and leave a pick up notice instead.

The backup for my regular UPS guy is pretty bad. My regular guy is perfect, though.

I'm rather amazed with Amazon service, and have not had issues with shipping. Even the stuff that says ships in 2 to 4 weeks, that I have ordered anyway, shows up in a week or so.

I have a Prime account and have had items arrive the next day, I pretty stream a free movie every night.

Out here a lot of packages arrive by 'On-trac' who use regular Vans as delivery vee hickles. Can't say I've had delivery issues. I had a CD's case kind of mangled but the CD was fine.

I am awaiting a low drawlow noise Muffin fan for my Fridge, and it has been sitting in the local distribution center for 2 days rather than 'out for delivery' by UPS.

They just started collecting tax on purchases in California, which is a bummer, but this state is so broke, it is understandable.

I've gotten over the instant gratification of buying things in stores. I'd rather wait, pay less, and have them delivered. No gas, no dealing with ignorant drivers/ pedestrians/ clerks. It helps me avoid the society whose people stoke my misanthropic fires.

I suspect your satisfaction with Amazon depends on where you are. I've never had trouble, but I live in a big city -- San Diego -- and I'm not yet on the move. (Just got a delivery while I was typing this, lol!)

OMG, yes! I had to stop shopping in stores years ago due to my extreme sensitivity to fragrance -- which is EVERYWHERE people are. Can't wait to get as far away from people as possible! (The kind who can't live without their many perfumed body products, that is.)

I think you are right about the location. The UPS guy is pretty much the same 1 or 2 guys.

I recently had a delivery and I don't think they came to my door. It could be because my location isnt clearly marked (i live in a building that basically has its own street thats really just a driveway). When i checked the tracking it was given to the post office, who left it outside my door the next day. I dont think the post office has this policy officially, but i work with a rural delivery woman for the post office and she says they do this for ups all the time.

About that video, that is just messed up. Though there was videos of UPS guys doing similar, like the one where the guy gives a security camera the finger and then throws the package onto their porch.

Please Help!,
My post office accepts and holds packages for me. I can't get Amazon to deliver to my P.O. Box because they use Fedex.
I am off the grid with no house address.
Any ideas?????
Thanks
