Adding suitcase solar to onboard solar

I currently have a 290 watt panel on the roof of my van, run to an epever 40a mppt controller then to two 6v batteries. It is often nice to camp where I can be in shade at least part of the day. I would like to be able to also use a suitcase panel that can be place where it will get sun. Are there any special ways or concerns when connecting the suitcase without disconnecting the on board solar?

Just connect it to your bank separately with it's own CC. It's how I connect mine. The battery doesn't care where it's getting its 12V from. Small CCs are cheap. I have a couple, each was under 25 bucks.
