I have an older (93) six-pac hard side and on more extensive outings I run out of propane I cook, that said a locked compartment on the side holds a  20 Lb can it's a horizontal slide in and a pain to swap out but too short to use the conventional tank it just wont fit I thought about mounting an exterior tank or under and on the frame tank that I installed in my step-van years ago.

I used to have an adapter and tee fitting on my tank connection on my old four wheel pop-up that had a horizontal tank. I think I bought it at an RV store. It had a hose that allowed you to connect a standard BBQ or camp stove that usually ran on little green bottles, and it also had a hose that allowed you to connect another tank sitting on the ground for extended stays. Seems like that would be the easiest if it's still available. Check Camping World and other such places. The tee installed between the tank valve and regulator.

Thanks guys, tee in will be the simple way, I like simple and a little dish soapy water in a spray bottle.

I am new to the forum. I have a question for y'all.. I have a 2003 Ford Ranger Extended-Cab Pickup Truck. I was wondering if anyone could give me suggestions on how to live in it?

First off you are on the wrong thread, Rangers are nice extended cab means less bed and being rated as a 1/2 ton just watch your weight I have seen some roomy camper tops others will chime in welcome to the site good luck.

Yah start a new thread in an appropriate forum.

Maybe one just to introduce yourself, post some pics etc.

Doing some reading of past threads, then asking more specific questions with details about your goals and preferences will get you more useful info.

Lots of people just toss in a mattress, pack a water jug, cooler, bucket and go!

I was thinking the same thing although for different applications. No propane inside my rig build. But I love to cook outside, have hot outside showers, and have a self contained fire pit fire. With all the news about BC burning it should come as no surprise that ground campfires are routinely not allowed in BC. During the times you want to be camping in BC anyway. I found a toroidal tank that goes in the spare tire space. Clean out of the way and pretty large. More importantly it gets filled at a filling station as auto propane which is drastically cheaper in BC. Add a regulator and your cooking with gas. Low weight at a great spot and no fuss no muss. Anyone else do this or had thoughts about it?
