Thanks for the link & posting. It is worthy & insightful.

One important thing she didn't mention was: How imperative is it in order to have a local &/or permanent address in relation to the hospitality job (or other corporate-based) she listed on her blog?

My concern is when a corporate-related employer does a background check, & they question the fact of an applicant not having a nearby &/or permanent address (either for a certain # of years or the constant change of addresses).

Some hiring recruiters (even the computer-generated scanning types) might not accept an applicant based on that.

WT if you're in a resort area, there's a good chance that you might just be there for the season. so your permanent address need not be local.

Anything seasonal or tourism based understands it probably won't be locals they hire. That's why so many advertise their jobs on workamper.com because they know they will come from all over the country.

Besides you almost have to have a permanent address or you can't get a drivers license. For that you get a mail-forwarder and that becomes your address.

I bet more than half the people I've worked with as a campground host had South Dakota plates, and another quarter had Texas plates. As did most of my bosses!

It may not be real popular but it is an interesting concept. Work, just plain ole reglur work. Huumm.

Is there a free site like workcamper.com? I don't use credit/debit cards, so buying stuff online is a no go.

I don't know of any free resources like workcamper.com. I hear about jobs from other workampers and blogs that I read.

None of my business, of course, but if you don't mind my asking . . .

I understand why people won't have a credit card, but what's your rationale for not having a debit card?

If I understand this correctly, you can keep minimal money in the account, and only move more in when you decide to buy something. Seems little different than buying and mailing a money order at the post office when you need to buy something?

Hackers. Cypriot style "hair cuts", and recent court rulings that say the money in the bank isn't actually yours; it belongs to the institution holding said money. Add in the fact that there is nowhere near enough money to insured all of the insured FDIC accounts, and possible bank holidays as our economy gets worse and I just prefer to keep my money with me.
