How many here have had a catalytic converter plug up on one of these?
In the last 60 days, there have been seven cats replaced on high mileage 5.3/6.0 engines.
Often, by the time they used to get 175,000 on them, the inside of the cat was cooked out and not doing much of anything.
These were all plugged and hissssssed when under power. Had to replace them.
Usually when they begin using oil, this is normal.
Only one of the seven burned any oil to speak of.
235,000 ish to 280,000 mile range on these.
If you have had it done, what mileage did it happen at?
