Hopefully in Wyoming, Idaho or Oregon!  Somewhere where there is some elevation.  August!  Might be a good time for the Tetons!

Yeah, I had heard about that one already.  I plan to be in Wyoming for it.

In Florida anywhere near the Kissimmee River which is the border between Highlands County and Okeechobee County from hwy 60 in the north to hwy US98 in the south.

Most of Nevada once you get 100 miles north of Las Vegas is great stargazing! Unless the California forests are on fire. I couldn't see the stars well this last summer because of all the smoke in the air!

Oh, and don't forget to check out Montana, my favorite state. You see some tiny lit areas along the east-west interstates but, trust me, in most all of north-central and northeastern MT five minutes outside of town provides heavenly skies.

I've seen the northern lights up there a few times, too!
