Women Only Can't Miss, But Sometimes I Do!

I found a funnel in the auto section (Walmart - try on a few), added surgical tubing to the end of it (Home Depot), and put it into a plastic gallon jug (water or ice tea jug). This is tied to the leg of a table so the jug doesn’t move when driving. I stand and put the funnel up to my body and...

Another Mexico pharmacy and dentist question

I went to Sani Dental last December or January. It was 65 for an exray, and 40 or 50 dollars to clean my teeth. I was also seen by a ‘technician or analyst’ to tell me what work I needed to have done. The exray was state of the art machines. Lead apron. I asked for a copy of this to take...

Searching for van in California - $$$$!

Nice looking van.  You did a good job on it.  I can't take it at the moment, but I know someone will be jumping on this in a couple of days.  Thanks for letting me see the pics.

Anyone here that can help me A.S.A.P. choose a good van?

I bookmarked that site you linked.  I've never seen it before but will use it for searches in the future.  Thanks

Searching for van in California - $$$$!

I have looked on the forum and can't find a market place tab.  Where is your van listed?  Can you give me a link or tell me where the for sale vehicles are hidden?  Thanks

Searching for van in California - $$$$!

Cargo.  I was looking at Fords E150s.  I don't have a good idea on which vans are the best for which years.  I was hoping not to spend more than 8K on it.  I will convert myself, building as I go.

Caution TTW, where are you located? Somewhere in CA?

Searching for van in California - $$$$!

I have seriously thought about the auto broker services. Since I know nothing about vans, and older vehicles in particular, it seemed like a great service for me. But they all seem to negotiate from a dealership. Not privot parties. That's just what I am seeing as I google them and look at...

Anyone here that can help me A.S.A.P. choose a good van?

So I didn't see any of you mention CarGuru or the other internet car sales posting sites (Autotrader, Cars.com, Carsdirect, etc). I saw a lot of Craig's List - is there a reason for this?

Anyone here that can help me A.S.A.P. choose a good van?

Wow, I have learned so much on this thread. I'm looking for a van myself. I know van shopping when I don't know anything about them is difficult. I'm going to give myself 6 months to shop. And I need to sit down and draw a grid on what mfger of vans and what years not to buy - as so many...

Searching for van in California - $$$$!

I am in California, and have been searching for a van all over the state. I am appalled at the cost of used vans here. For folks in California - did you go out of state to buy your van? Prices are like half the cost in the mid west compared to here. Even Oregon has to be considerably cheaper...

best van to get - advice wanted

The V6 verses V8 is relevant. Thanks for all the comments on the power of a V6. I have to drive a twisty, nasty mountain highway to get home. I don't want to chug a lug up the mountain either. People get so aggressive on this highway, and there is very little areas to pull over if I need to...

best van to get - advice wanted

I have a Prius C.  I used to camp out in my old Prius, but the C is too small for me to sleep in.  And with the dog - it won't work.  I also need to have office wear in this vehicle, so I need a little closet area for clothes. I just really like the idea of having a van with a bed and a...

best van to get - advice wanted

Good question.  Yes, I will be able to sleep in it in the summer.  If it gets too hot (above 85 or 90), I can always wait till 7pm and drive home.  We get 100 degree heat maybe a week a year.  It stays pretty much around 80-85 all summer.

best van to get - advice wanted

Thank you for the information on your rig.  I do have a Prius C that gets around 60 miles to the gallon.  I got it for the commuting, and it works great.  I just can't stand to sit in traffic after work for 2-3 hours every night.  I'm to the point where I don't care about gas mileage any more...

best van to get - advice wanted

I've read this forum for ... I guess a couple of years now.  I knew I would most likely retire to this mode of living but am now seeing it as a great way to live my life Monday through Friday instead of sitting in traffic.  I have looked at new vans the last 3 months and am in sticker shock. ...

best van to get - advice wanted

During the winter, I leave her in the vehicle and let her out every 2 hours.  I walk her an hour during lunch time.  On my breaks, I let her out for 10-15 minutes. During the summer, she goes to doggy daycare for the day. The dog was raised in a van, so she loves being in a vehicle rather than...

best van to get - advice wanted

I work in silicon valley, CA.  I have a house which I love, but the commute kills me.  I can't work where I live because wages are so depressed. My thought was to van dwell with my dog every other night or most week nights.  Drive home T/Th or Wed, and the weekends.  I would rather live in the...

Are vans with rebuilt engines good buys?

This thread has been very educational. I do see the point of saving more $$ and buying a newer van with less mileage now. It's easy to purchase someone else's problems. We really need to have a mechanic run through it carefully before buying. And it explains why I see so many vans for sale...

Stealth in the SF Bay Area ( east and north).

Thank you for sharing your experience. I can see your point also about the cargo van being targeted by police or neighbors. The hidden always makes people want to know more and makes them feel uneasy. I guess I'm not as opposed to window vans as I was in the beginning. With a heavy tint...
