Get Chev Express Van and put generator and window AC on it?

The safari condo unit is not avail in the states. several people in different forums have made arrangements and gone to Canada and picked the unit up. it is also expensive. That was really the only clean window install I have seen. I cut a hole thru the door below the window and installed a...

    My Interior Layout

I find one of the things I use the most in my van is the front passenger seat with a swivel. This mod gives me a comfy place to sit and "opens up " an extra 2ft of space. Plus sitting in this seat I find I use the other area of the cab while I'm in that area - the driver seat to sit things down...

What is the most useful thing in your van?

comfortable place to sit, now have swivel on passenger front seat. before that it was a collapsible bag chair that took up too much floor space, but was great seating.

    ultimate cooler?

The quality of the ice seems to matter a lot. We have these self-service ice stations poppping up every where here in south-east texas. put $ 2 into it and get 15 or 20 lbs of loose ice.that you dump into your ice chest. it seems to be "soft ice", does not last as long as a bag of ice from...

Questions about fastening equipment to van

I used L brackets to attach my cabinet and bed frame to the plywood floor, which is screwed down to the metal van floor.I think in event of a serious accident furniture would break loose. Best way would be to drill through metal van floor and attach with nuts, bolts, and big washers.

    GM express vans

have a new chevy express passenger van 2500 regular body, 4.8 liter V-8. 14.5 in town and 17.5 highway. had a small gulfstream b+ motorhome built on a chevy cutaway van with a 6.0 liter gas engine, it got 11mpg to 12mpg. btw the express van is hardly broken in so mileage may increase a little.

installing the wood frame for the bed

I've used L brackets and screwed it to the plywood floor, I know in the event of a bad accident it will probably tear loose. Best way would be to drill through all floor materials and metal floor  and use bolts.

The most incredible "car" camper. EVER.

At Huntsville state park saw a Ford mini van ( think it's called a transit connect or something) that someone was camping in. Wasn't able to get a close look but I think he had semi converted the interior. He was I think there for a couple of days and I didn't notice a tent so he must have slept...

My Van Has a Mind of it's Own! - Help!!

My 2006 RV built on a Chevy gas cutaway van 6.0 engine had a fuel pump problem. When I pulled into town one day and ran into traffic congestion the engine started to sputter and as I pulled into a parking lot it died. After a few minutes it started up. A day or two later on the highway running...

    EZ Up Canopy/Shade

A couple of guys used one at the deer lease 2 years ago. A storm came thru one night and their canopy was down the next morning. Frame was bent badly, they had to shore it up with a pine sapling. At the beach most stakes won't work, we used to tire on to something (log,rock,bucket)&nbsp...

    MRE's?

I find some are pretty good. A friend has a large supply of them that we take to the deer lease each hunting season. We have had problems with some of the water activated heater included with them (would not heat). We don't eat them for every meal and for only four or five days at a time. Find...
