confused on inside power source !

Another battery will only delay running out of power if you don't increase the charging ability. I currently have 200 amp hr batteries and 175 Watt panel which don't keep up with my 73 qt ARB fridge. Especially when it's hot out. Are you able to add a solar panel to the jackery? Or if you...

    Passenger van

When I priced out vans it was about the same price to get a new cargo van with windows than to buy a few year old passenger van. Plus with a passenger van you would have to dispose of the seats somehow and if you want to insulate rip our the interior. I camped in my van before I built it and...

    HEAT can we adapt?

I'm currently in 95 degree heat with heat index in the 100s. It's been rough. I use a fan, sit in the shade in the afternoon and take a dip in the lake periodically. Driving somewhere is also an option for a brief reprieve. My biggest problem is that my solar/driving can't keep up with my...

    House flies

I have fly issues, hate them. I did discover that you can spray them with soapy water and this kills them. I'm using my dawn power wash at the moment, but I need to try just soap in a squirt bottle as it would be cheaper. I've been tempted to get one of those electric bug guards, but I'm not...

    Bike Route

I've always just selected the bike icon on google maps. That will at least get you an idea. Usually the tourist agency of the state will publish a bike route pamphlet you can get ahold of as well.

    Colorado suggestions?

So are the first come first served style campgrounds a safe bet even if the NP is full? I'm concerned that I'll get there and have no place to go. I'm still new to this.

    Weight loss

I've just started out and I am finding it difficult to get in a healthy food grove, especially since it is hot out and I don't want to cook. Gas stations seem to stock all my favorites which is hard to resist! I'd be interested to hear more about some of the no cook, no fridge healthy foods...

    Colorado suggestions?

Hi all, I was looking to be in Colorado in September for a few weeks.  I was originally planning on Great Sand Dunes NP and Rocky Mountain NP, but the NP campgrounds are full and it looks as it will be busy.  Should I still go and try to find camping elsewhere?  Any suggestions for more...

Car camping options in the NE?

Usually the "primative" sites are cheaper than hookups, in the 15 to 20 range. You also might be able to rotate parks too, depending on the rules. The state park I'm at only allows 14 days at one site, but let me book two more weeks at a different campground within the park. Winter you might...

    My batteries

You can connect them in parallel or on series. Depending if you want more voltage or amps. This website shows the difference about halfway down. https://www.mpptsolar.com/en/batteries-series-parallel.html I have my 2 100 amp hr 12V batteries on parallel to make 12V and 200 amp hrs. Hope...

    Best mobile hotspot subscription?

I'm using Nomad internet with TMobile reseller right now and the last two camp sites it didn't work, but my phone with AT&T reseller did, even with boost. It works here, just outside a major city, but marginal. I think I might switch to the Verizon plan. More expensive but better then not...

    ideas for healthy snacks?

Some of these suggestions are healthy but high calorie, which you probably don't need if you are driving all day, such as nuts, hummus, dates. I have a hard time not snacking constantly when driving, so have some good low calorie drinks which will go e you stuff to do without excessive...

Everything on hold for this Wanna-be Nomad

Yikes! Glad you were able to get help in time and had good friends to help with logistics. Hopefully you can get patched up soon and back to it. Take care!

Flies! How to keep them out!

I have screens where I open for ventilation, but not over where I get in and out.  Seems it would be annoying to have to open a screen and well, it's open, so defeats the purpose I would think, or does it make a difference somehow?  Thanks!

Flies! How to keep them out!

Hi all, Any tips for keeping flies from entering your vehicle?  I have windows in front so the enter from the back and then run themselves against the window to try to get out all night long, or just pester me directly.  Fly paper works but is gross and not very kind to the flies.  I've read a...

What is your monthly internet usage?

Well 1 GB per day is a good ballpark, thank you. I'm planning on some web surfing, facebook, podcasts and movies, but no gaming or zoom meetings. I think downloaded maps on all trails might drive my usage up too. It sounds like the "unlimited" that limits around 15-20 that I'm seeing are not...

    Biodegradable Soaps, Shampoos

I use Lush shampoo bars, a bit pricey but I like that it's in bar form. I called once and they said all of them are biodegradable unless they contain glitter or similar. They have bar conditioner too.

What is your monthly internet usage?

Hey all, What is your monthly internet usage (GBs) like and what do you use it for?  I'm wondering if one of the "unlimited" but throttled versions will work for me or if I need to splurge for Nomad internet or similar.  Thanks!

    So now what?

Thanks for all your thoughts. I'm definitely missing a routine. It seems all attempts to establish a routine have been thwarted by weather or location or something. A better mission might be good too. Thanks!
